Vermentino di Gallura 'Spera' Siddura 2024

The Vermentino "Spera" is a fresh and lively white wine that brings joy thanks to its fresh and carefree drinkability. The name "Spera" comes from Gallurese and means beam of light, and it serves to indicate the flow of the liquid, so sunny and cheerful. The Siddura winery is located in the heart of Gallura, more precisely in Luogosanto, a picturesque medieval village where the culture of wine is ingrained in the gestures of those who live there. An idyllic setting for the vine, considering the particularly favorable climate of Sardinia, and the great territorial biodiversity that alternates vineyards with cork forests and dense Mediterranean scrub. The intent of the Siddura winery is therefore to produce expressions that reflect its terroir, enhancing the characteristics of local indigenous grape varieties.

The white wine "Spera" is produced from pure Vermentino grapes located at about 300 meters above sea level entirely within the Gallura area. The vines cultivated on sandy soils are maintained with rather low yields to prioritize the quality of the fruit, and the grapes are harvested by hand to carry out a careful selection of only the best. After destemming, the grapes are pressed and left to macerate for a few hours with the must while fermentation takes place in steel tanks for about 12-15 days at controlled temperature. The liquid then ages on the fine lees for about a month, and subsequently is aged for a few months in the bottle before being released on the market.

The wine "Spera" Siddura presents itself in the glass with a straw-yellow color adorned with slight greenish reflections. The freshness announced by the visual aspect is confirmed by the first olfaction made of clear references to the Mediterranean scrub, to tropical fruit, expressed in an extremely delicate and intriguing manner. A sip that tastes of Sardinia, millimetric intertwining of sapidity and structure, which suggests delightful pairings with delicate fish dishes. Sun, sea, and wind all in a glass.
