The white Brda is a Slovenian orange wine rich in aromas and sensations that, from the very first moments, present themselves with a strong character and personality. A territorial wine, which Kristian Keber assembles from three grape varieties, Ribolla Gialla, Friulano, and Malvasia Istriana, widely cultivated in the Goriska Brda and representing a good piece of the country's winemaking history. A label to taste to indulge in a visionary, sincere, and carefree drink that tells the story of a borderland.
The Brda is born from a blend of white grape varieties typical of the Slovenian territory, Ribolla Gialla, Friulano, and Malvasia Istriana. These three varieties are cultivated on a small plot of land located in the Medana area, more precisely in Kozlink, in the Goriska Brda. The vineyards are managed by Kristian Keber using organic and biodynamic farming practices, and the grapes, once pressed, macerate for 12 days on the skins, fermenting spontaneously in cement tanks, thanks to the presence of indigenous yeasts. The maturation process then takes place for 24 months in large oak barrels and, after bottling, for another 12 months directly in glass.
large oak barrels and, after bottling, for another 12 months directly in glass. The Brda wine made by Kristian Keber reveals itself to the eye with a golden yellow color, characterized by shades that, at the rim, tend towards amber. Rich and layered on the nose, where the first aromas evoke the Mediterranean scrub and aromatic herbs, then directing towards more floral notes. On the palate it has excellent body, dense, almost tactile, with a complex and articulated sip, characterized by a savory taste and a fresh imprint; it ends with a finish of excellent persistence. A strongly identity-driven bottle, which is the manifesto of what the Slovenian terroir can express in a bottle.
